Abortion
I was just thinking about how some people argue that it’s not the woman’s sole decision to have an abortion and that her partner/boyfriend/spouse etc should have a say.
While I agree with this, it’s definitely a conversation that will have to be had, however ultimately it’s the woman’s decision and there isn’t much her partner/boyfriend/spouse can do to change her mind if that’s what she’s decided.
Because again, let’s think of her happiness and the happiness of the future child. If she was persuaded or even forced to carry the baby to term, there’s a strong chance she’d be miserable and end up resenting the child down the line. So, while it may be seen as selfish if a woman is “only thinking of herself”, it also kind of saves everyone a lot of heart ache down the line.
I say this as someone who’s had an abortion and thankfully had a boyfriend at the time who was understanding and accepting of my decision. I got pregnant because my contraceptive failed me, not because I was fucking like some slut woman that people against abortions like to demonize and label women who seek out the procedure. And even if that was the case… IT’S NOT YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS.
I don’t like all this funny business about access to the procedure, we’re in 2012 for fucks sake, why is this still a conversation!?
